Jamie Lee Curtis returns for one final “Halloween”

The original Scream Queen is back for one final terrifying adventure!

Jamie Lee Curtis is set to return to the role of “Laurie Strode” in what Universal Pictures is billing as the “final film,” in the Halloween franchise, set for release on October 19, 2018.

Curtis said this via her Twitter feed:

“Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18.”

If Harrison Ford can return to the role of Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise decades later, and if Arnold Schwarzenegger can do it with The Terminator, certainly there’s more than enough room for a powerful performance by Curtis, who seems willing, eager, and excited to come back.

Behind the scenes, an interesting pedigree of filmmaking talent has assembled for this, the 10th film in the franchise.

First and foremost, filmmaking legend, John Carpenter, co-creator of the original Halloween (1978), will serve as Executive Producer and creative consultant.

He is teaming with Jason Blum (Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity), one of the current relevant horror producers in the industry right now. David Gordon Green is directing from a script he co-wrote with Danny McBride.

The film is being produced by Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions, and Miramax.

There’s always an element of prestige when an iconic actor aligns themselves with a horror film. The gravitas they bring with them elevates the experience to an entirely new dimension. It’s even more special when an actor returns to a role they have played spanning many, many years. Seeing a character evolve and age over the course of their entire life is a rare opportunity.

Curtis’s character will, of course, be tormented and terrified throughout the film, and we will be right there alongside her one more time. Really excited for this.
