Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Disneyland (Anaheim, CA) – Construction Update: October 2016

So much progress has happened at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge since my last update! An army of construction workers have gathered to erect the biggest expansion in the history of Disneyland! Let’s take a closer look and see what’s going on!

There has been a ton of terrain forming and earth moving since we were here last.

The construction crews scattered about really give a sense of scope of the massive project.

The first ride vehicle for the Battle Escape attraction has arrived on site! Check it out in the photo above in the bottom left corner! I mean, these things look like they are going to just fly around the course!

As a reference so you know where we are in relationship to Disneyland proper, the tiny red framework in the left middle of the shot is the back of ToonTown‘s backdrop facade. That elevated lift hill being constructed in the center looks to be establishing the boundary between Galaxy’s Edge and the Rivers of America. That tent structure in the distance is the Fantasyland Theatre. And the green thingee in the foreground is a tree.

Infrastructure going in!

More infrastructure going in!

Construction workers gather here at their command center to strategize, plan and construct things. I guess the rumors are, in fact, not true that Disney hired Geonosian termites to build Galaxy’s Edge.

Meaning, these guys.

There’s so much infrastructure going in, I think I’m starting to get burned out on infrastructure.

Mounds of dirt being moved. Again, the tiny workers show just how massive this project is. It’s starting to come together pretty well, slowly but surely! Really exciting.

So that’s the Galaxy’s Edge update. Hope you enjoyed!
